“Good Trouble Virtual Town Hall”
(Jonesboro, GA- December 2020) The Clayton County Solicitor - General Charles Brooks is collaborating with Clayton County Public Schools and DJ Sturgess of V-103 Radio Station to bring you the Good Trouble Virtual Town Hall. This dynamic event is both a nod to the late John Lewis and an acknowledgment of the importance of social justice within the community. This town hall, the first of its kind in Clayton County will provide District 9 High School Students the unique opportunity to interact with community leaders like Deputy Superintendent Ralph Simpson, District 9 Board of Education Member Benjamin Straker and Clayton Solicitor–General Charles A. Brooks. Participants will have the ability to submit questions prior to the town hall and voice their concerns about issues involving social justice.
This opportunity to engage with Clayton County Youth is particularly exciting for Solicitor Brooks, a former educator and a proud graduate of Clayton County Public Schools. “Teaching is my first love and I am excited to return to the classroom and have a real conversation without lecturing them,” Solicitor-Brooks said. “It is my hope that conversations from this event will jumpstart future opportunities to engage the youth and bridge the gap between the Office of the Solicitor-General and the community it serves.
